Coming off of stellar releases for France’s Frankie Records and Germany’s Floppy Funk, Malmö, Sweden’s Donk Boys (a.k.a. Bauri/Deltidseskapism and Thomas Jaldemark) are currently amongst the hottest names in funk-dified tech house. Balancing their schedules between studio time and a growing number of worldwide tour dates, The Donk Boys are just getting started, with another release on Frankie as well as Floppy Funk (both scheduled to hit stores in early ’08) set to further increase their name recognition around the globe.
This past summer the duo approached the Chicago based Siteholder Records / UnCut with a selection of unreleased tracks. Upon first listen, it was a no-brainer that the Sweden-Chicago hook-up had to be exploited. A few conversations and one signed contract later, and Siteholder UnCut 007 was a done deal – the “Triangelen EP” was born.
“Kantorer” kicks off the three-tracker with the signature fun and funky sound that has made The Donk Boys such a staple in so many globe trotting DJs’ record bags. After hours mind-melter “Okdesuka” promises to turn any party into a mental freak fest. “Precision” (initially licensed for OM Record’s …) rounds out the EP along the same lines of “Kantorer” – relentless dance floor funk that is overwhelmingly approved to rock the sound system at any underground night club.
